The CoVid 19 Protocol at Dr Bari Dental Clinic Pune
During the CoVid 19 global crisis, we consider the health and safety of our staff and patients as important as that of our family. With this in mind, we have taken adequate steps to ensure you are attended in a completely germ free environment. We are proud to say that our standards of care meet or exceed the guidelines given by CDC and OSHA. Following are the 20 most important additional steps that we are taking to make your visit as safe as possible:
- ADVANCED STAFF TRAINING:
Our auxiliary staff is well trained to practice advanced sterilization and disinfection protocol and are updated from time to time with the latest one.
- DAILY HEALTH CHECKS:
Contactless temperature and oxygen saturation checks are done everyday.
- ANTIMICROBIAL RINSE:
A pre treatment antimicrobial rinse considerably reduces the amount of germs in the mouth. We have made it a habit to include chlorhexidine.
- PRE SCREENING OF EVERY PATIENT:
Every patient is screened for body temperature with a contactless thermometer and for oxygen saturation before entering the dental operatory. Also, patients need to fill up a short CoVid questionnaire before beginning the procedure.
- SPACED OUT APPOINTMENTS:
We pre plan all appointments with a considerable time gap after each one to get adequate time in between for disinfection of the operatory. Also, since our clinic is a multi chair equipped clinic, care is taken so that no two patients are treated at the same time.
- EXPANDED APPOINTMENTS:
We try to provide expanded appointments to complete treatments in single visit in an effort to save your time and multiple exposures.
- TELECONSULTATIONS:
A number of our patients refrain from stepping out and are at high risks due to various comorbidities. Patients who opt to postpone their visits have an option of teleconsultation for emergencies.
- HAND SANITIZATION STATION:
We have a foot operated hand sanitization station for patients to sanitize their hands before entering the clinic.
- SOCIAL DISTANCING:
Adequate social distancing is followed in the clinic.
- CLEANING AND DISINFECTION AFTER EVERY APPOINTMENT:
Adequate time is spent in between appointments for cleaning and disinfection according to CDC protocol.
- COMPREHENSIVE CLEANING EVERY EVENING
Every evening after closing the OPD, the operatory is sanitized in great detail with our staff clad in complete protective gears. Every nook and corner of the dental clinic is sanitized and and air purified.
- CDC APPROVED STERILIZATION OF INSTRUMENTS:
As always we have been following stringent sterilization and disinfection protocols in the clinic.
- CLEAR BARRIERS:
We have placed adequate clear screens in our consulting chambers as barriers between the doctor and patient.
- N95 MASKS:
Our operating team always wears N95 masks.
- FACE SHIELDS:
Face shields have become a routine for doctors and auxiliary staff for extra protection.
- FRONT DESK STAFF SAFETY:
Our front desk staff is the first person to meet and converse with you. We have them all suited-up with protective gear to ensure adequate safety.
- PROTECTIVE COVERALLS FOR TEAM:
Our doctors and assistants are completely protected in PPE suits.
- COMPREHENSIVE PROTECTIVE GEAR:
When required, we utilize an additional level of protection for long surgeries and aerosol generating procedures and use impermeable high quality PPE.
- HEPA-14 AIR FILTERS:
The air that you breathe in is purified with the highest grade HEPA filter i.e. HEPA 14 makes sure that not only your teeth but also your lungs are taken care of from particulate pollutants and aerosol particles scattered in the air.
- NO HANDSHAKES:
We at Dr Bari Dental, love to get back to our roots and with joined hands would love to follow a ‘Namaste’ over handshakes.
- Digital records & Prescription:
With our patient records already being digital, we have also made our prescriptions go digital to minimize contact during the pandemic.
(These SOPs have been implemented at Dr Bari Dental Clinic w.e.f. 1 June 2020. The protocol is subject to change with number of positive cases of CoVid 19 and severity of disease at any given point of time. The clinic authorities have the right to make any changes in it without any prior notice)
